Radio Show December 2011

Amateur Community Theatre of Rowlett performed their annual 1940's old-fashion radio show for the seniors at Christian Care Center; main performance was for the alzheimer wing at 2 p.m.

As the Christmas music began to play, the residents started tapping their feet and began to sing! It was a wonderful sight to see their face's light-up to Christmas classics such as, Gene Autry's "Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer" and Burl Ives' "Have a Holly, Jolly, Christmas."

Joan and Becky got into the spirit and started to sing along with them:

We finished up the radio show with "Who's On First." As we packed up our equipment, we wished everyone there a Merry Christmas, smile's all around. But mainly from us. You see, something special happens when you give of your time and talents to others. It is a joy that no gift can give.

Merry Christmas!
And a Happy New Year!

Almost Show Time

The Rowlett Historical Society had their meeting on January 17, 2011. ACTOR presented the radio show "The Bickerson's"

Everything went fairly smooth except for Eric. He had some problems with the sound effects. Eric was quoted as saying "I think I'm having a Lyle moment."

Everyone in the audience seemed to enjoy the show. The program lasted about 30 - 40 minutes.

It's a Rap! Last Radio Show Performed

Well, ACTOR finished it's last show, December 22, at Chambrel. We performed in front of a warm fireplace with Christmas music dancing in the air. With the seats filling up, we got to do our little show for family and friends. ACTOR is blessed to have this opportunity to give back in 2010.

Thanks for the memories and have a Merry Christmas.

Sincerely,
ACTOR

P.S. I'll try to post some video of our radio show. That's if I can figure out how to upload it. >.<

December Radio Show

Merry Christmas!

ACTOR did it's first radio show for December at Christian Care Center. We had two performances. One for the Alzheimer's patients and another show for the assisted living.

At the end of our last show, we had a man in a wheel-chair wheel over to us and he asked us if we would like some old radio shows that he had in his room. We said sure! Five minutes later he came back with a case filled with old recordings.

It really touched us. Giving something he had as a gift to us. So what ACTOR decided to do was take this picture (the insert) and print it up and autograph it for him and give it as a gift.

This has been a great experience. Look forward to this Wednesday for another show!

Christmas 2010

Thank you for your votes on the Christmas play! Due to a tie in the poll and to time constraints, ACTOR is doing something different this year.

We are presenting a traveling 1940's radio show. In this way we can give back to the community. So, if you have an organization (with a stage) and want a Christmas radio show for a fundraiser or just for fun, we will perform for you for no charge.

E-mail us or give us a call at 972-463-4880, manofdrama@actortx.com

Show consists of:
Fibber McGee and Molly
Sherlock Holmes
Abbott and Costello

It is ACTOR'S gift to you!
